Owned Vessels & Equipment

Safely and reliably connecting.

We own a large number of vessels, including those equipped with advanced facilities, such as automatic vessel positioning equipment and the Dynamic Positioning System (DPS), capable of significantly improving work efficiency. We are prepared to undertake tasks in all Japanese waters as required. Crewless exploration and video filming using remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) are also possible.
We introduce the vessels and equipment that form the hardware foundation of SEKIKAIJI's Underwater Power.

Cable laying, burying, and transport barge services

  • image of Awaji
    Awaji

A dedicated barge for laying submarine cables and water pipes.

Equipped with the DPS for stationary positioning and a standard turntable, capable of maintaining position even in deep waters or areas where anchor deployment is challenging.
“Awaji” can outfit specialized equipment for laying cables between wind turbines, with endorsed construction track records.
Also capable of diverse site responses beyond submarine lines.

    Asahi

A barge for laying and burying submarine cables and water pipes.

Equipped with the DPS for stationary positioning and a standard turntable. The dedicated mothership for the large ROV, “Ditch Queen,” specialized in burial and investigation.
After laying cables, subsequent burial construction by the Ditch Queen is possible.
Like “Awaji,” it operates as a multipurpose DPS work barge.

    Ditch Queen

An underwater robot (ROV) specialized in burial and investigation.

It descends into the water from its mothership “Asahi” and is connected by wire to the control room on board for remote operation.
After underwater installation, it can investigate the burial depth of cables using equipped sensors.

    Hito Maru

Engages in anchor placement and retrieval, as well as towing of on-site barges, and also serving as a traffic ship.

    A 19-ton tugboat and workboat.
Equipped with a 10-ton winding winch, it also performs anchor placement and retrieval operations.

  • image of Manta
    Manta

A small boat that is easy to use and can be transported by trailer.

When diving operations are required, it serves as the mother ship for divers and as an assist ship when barges are departing from the port, making it an indispensable vessel that is easy to use and tailored to the task at hand. It can be transported by trailer, allowing it to be active nationwide.
This small coastal vessel is capable of solo navigation to anywhere in the country (excluding some areas like Okinawa’s main island).
